Roundabout Film Series, 2023- 2025
Oversaw marketing and media production for a semi-annual film screening series at the Gene Siskel Film Center. Designed a custom logo for the series.

In 2023, VDB began the ongoing screening series Roundabout in which VDB invites fellow moving image archives and distributors to collaborate on a conversational program of short experimental works with a prompt to respond to a selection of works from VDB's collection with a selection from their own. Roundabout editions have included Electronic Arts Intermix, Image Forum Japan, Light Cone Paris, and Videobrasil.

Can You Move Like This: Black Fire films by Kevin Jerome Everson and Claudrena N. Harold consists of eleven short form works produced between 2013-2023: Sugarcoated Arsenic, Foosball: U. of Virginia Charlottesville, VA 1976, We Demand, Fastest Man in the State, 70kg, How Can I Ever Be Late, Black Bus Stop, Hampton, Pride, Gospel Hill, and Accidental Athlete. Though individually distinct in their formal qualities and thematic focus, these films reflect Everson’s and Harold’s deep interest in the interiority of Black life, particularly those formal and informal spaces where African Americans communed, hobnobbed, prayed, loved, quarreled, reconciled, and moved on. Within these communal spaces, which range from the college dormitory to the local bar, the directors engage the epic and the quotidian, the sacred and the profane, the individual and the collective.

“Weird Hill‘s nine tracks manage to slink through any number of influences and curveballs without losing coherence, clocking in at just under a half-hour. The wry smirk of Pavement can be glanced through buoyant, Deerhunter-sized melodies and slaloming Spaghetti Western guitar work, while the trio’s distinct, jerking sense of otherness remains consistent throughout.
The LP was recorded & produced by Robocobra Quartet’s Chris Ryan, who does justice to the band’s reputation as one of Ireland’s tightest, most sonically sculpted acts. It’s out through Pizza Pizza Records.”
